Estonia restarted the registration of cryptocurrency companies and canceled all their licenses last fall.

This year, a new registration process for startups representing the blockchain industry has started and the first team to receive such a license was Striga.

According to the Financial Supervisory Authority (FIU), this company received on September 20 permission to work in Estonia. Striga is fully compliant with anti-money laundering legislation.

The head of FIU, Mathis Mäeker, announced in May the authorities’ plans to tighten control over the crypto sphere. According to the official, hundreds of blockchain startups continue to operate illegally in the country.
