Indian marketplace Flipkart, which is owned by US retailer Walmart, has begun testing its own Flipverse virtual world.
The project is aimed at attracting customers during the holiday season. The partner of the pilot initiative was eDAO, which is affiliated with Polygon.
The Flipverse metaverse allows the world’s leading brands to offer their products to customers: Puma, Noise, Nivea, Lavie, Tokyo Talkies, Campus, VIP, Ajmal Perfumes and Himalaya.
According to a press release shared by the company, customers expect a “gamified, interactive and immersive” experience. They will also be able to collect Supercoins loyalty points and digital collectibles from partner brands.
