Investor and Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary has said he believes former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried is innocent until his alleged fraud is proven.
The latter has given in recent days several interviews for which he has been criticized by the community.
Galaxy Digital founder Mike Novogratz has called his statements “nonsense”, and the former CEO of MicroStrategy Michael Saylor has accused him of being “shitkoiner” and unethical. In addition, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao has called Bankman-Fried “one of the greatest scammers in history.”
However, O’Leary has said:
“I am one of those who believes: “You are innocent until proven otherwise.” This is my belief, and I need facts. Therefore, if you tell me that you did something or not, I will believe you. Until I discover that this is a lie.”
