Mining device maker Bitmain has sold out a batch of Antminer HS3 devices in 27 seconds to mine the Handshake token (HNS). Shortly after that, the price of the token has fallen by about 2%.
According to the specs, the miner generates a hashrate of 9 TH/s and provides an energy efficiency of 231 J/TH with a consumption of 2,079 watts. The price of the devices, whose deliveries should start in December, is $2,092.
The company’s affiliated mining pool, AntPool, has added support for the altcoin without fees “for a limited time.”
We should note that the Handshake project is focused on building a decentralized domain name system on a public blockchain.
