The specialists of blockchain security company Halborn have uncovered a serious vulnerability in the Dogecoin code.

They have since fixed the bug but have not released any further details due to security reasons. Furthermore, the flaw was similar to those found in over 280 networks with a combined market capitalization of $25 billion, including Litecoin and ZCash.

The most pressing problem was linked to the “zero day” option which allowed an attacker to execute code remotely on a miner’s node or initiate a DoS attack.

The team has reached out to the affected networks in order to responsibly disclose the issue.
