In a July 2019 criticism, economics professor and Bitcoin skeptic Nouriel Roubini called Ethereum’s ICO a “scam” and declared that Ethereum is a security, despite the “selfish claims” of ETH whales.
He went on to state that the scam was intended to make it seem like ETH was not a security, even though it is.
More recently, he compared the failed Silicon Valley Bank to crypto exchanges, predicting a forthcoming demise of the entire crypto asset market.
He has said:
“The Ethereum billionaire group claims it is not a security. Full of laughter! [Gary] Gensler of the SEC has confirmed that Proof-of-Stake coins can be securities.”
