Bitmain, the world-renowned manufacturer of cryptocurrency mining equipment and the largest of its kind, has recently begun taking orders for the KS3 device, which offers a hash rate of 8.3 TH/s and a power consumption of 3,188W, with a batch limit of up to 30 per hand, yet with no specified price range.
In addition, the company is offering a coupon of $10,000 to a winner of a kind of lottery. Estimated delivery of the device is roughly set for August.
Kaspa (KAS), the cryptocurrency that the device will mine, is based on a protocol called GhostDAG/PHANTOM, which is described as a “scalable generalization of the bitcoin consensus”.
