The Indian Supreme Court has expressed its disappointment over the lack of a law or regulatory agency from the Centre when it comes to crypto, according to Hindustan Times.
Justices Surya Kant and Dipankar Datta have issued a directive to the Union government to make a record of its intentions to form a federal body to investigate crypto-related criminal activity.
The court noted that a police constable being promoted to an assistant sub-inspector or a sub-inspector would not be qualified enough to conduct a thorough investigation.
It urged the government to establish a national, specialized agency to handle this critical situation in the best interests of the nation.
