Bitcoin Mining Difficulty Reaches an All-time High

The difficulty of mining BTC has recently increased by 6.17%, hitting an all-time high of around 55.6 T.

The average hasrate over the period since the last adjustment was 399.36 EH/s, resulting in a block interval of 9.5 minutes.

According to Glassnode, the smoothed 7-day moving average reached its peak of 414 EH/s on August 17. Additionally, the Hashrate Index reveals that the hash rate decreased by 5% in the last 24 hours, from $63 per PH per day to $60.

Meanwhile, American mining firm Genesis Digital Assets expanded its capacity in Sweden with the introduction of a new 417 MW data center next to the Porjus hydroelectric power plant.

On the night of August 19, a single miner mined block #803 821 and earned 6.31 BTC, including transaction fees.

Hardware manufacturer Bitmain recently released a volatility protection feature to its customers, offering a 3-month compensation scheme if bitcoin falls more than 20% at the point of purchase.
