According to experts from Beosin, the crypto industry suffered a significant loss of $889.3 million due to hacks, scams, and rug pulls from July to September.
This surpasses the losses experienced in the first half of the year as a whole, which amounted to $655 million.
The largest portion of the losses, at 67.4%, occurred on DeFi protocols, with 29 incidents reported. In terms of value, the biggest attack was on the Mixin Network, resulting in a loss of $200 million.
Following this, the most significant losses were recorded from hacks on Curve ($73 million), CoinEx ($70 million), Alphapo ($60 million), and Stake ($41.3 million).
Among blockchains, Ethereum was hit the hardest, recording 16 attacks and resulting in a loss of $227 million for projects.
Coming in second place, excluding the Mixin incident, was BNB Chain, which reported 10 attacks with a total damage of $37.4 million.
In terms of rug pulls, Multichain suffered the largest loss of $210 million, followed by Bald ($23 million) and Pepe ($15.5 million).
