Worldcoin Launches its Project in Singapore

Worldcoin, the crypto project co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, has officially launched in Singapore, allowing individuals to verify their unique humanness at an Orb, indicating a growing global interest in proof of personhood.

While the announcement highlights the positive development in an influential economic hub, it’s worth noting that Worldcoin recently paused activities in India and concluded registration services in Brazil and France.

The Worldcoin Foundation explained that these initiatives in Brazil and France were limited previews, with more substantial plans expected in 2024.

Additionally, Orb-verified proof of personhood services in India are temporarily scaled back as the protocol works on a safe and orderly process to meet demand.

The Worldcoin project, centered around identity verification through iris scanning with Orb devices, rewards participants with WLD tokens.

Despite a decline in WLD token price after launch, it has since rebounded, currently trading at $3.70 as of 2:30 p.m. ET.
