Number of Crypto Holders Rises by 34%: Coingecko

According to Coingecko’s research, the global digital currency market reached a turnover of $36.6 trillion in 2023, while market capitalization saw a 108% increase.

In agreement with Coingecko’s analysis, Crypto.com’s platform noted significant growth in the virtual currency infrastructure over the past year.

The number of individuals holding cryptocurrencies also saw a 34% rise, from 432 million to 580 million. Bitcoin and Ether remained the most popular digital currencies among people.

The number of ETH holders increased from 89 million to 124 million, and BTC holders from 222 million to 296 million. 40% of BTC investors also had invested in ETH, according to Crypto.com’s report.

The report’s authors highlighted that despite macroeconomic factors like tightening monetary policies in Western countries to control inflation, the adoption of cryptocurrencies continued to grow in 2023.
