United States presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. last week took to social media to make a promise – if elected in November, he will free Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht.
Kennedy Jr. highlighted the severity of Ulbricht’s two life sentences for what he views as simply running an e-commerce platform. He also shared a petition calling for Ulbricht’s release from prison.
While former President Donald Trump has been making headlines and gaining support from the crypto community for his stance on the industry, RFK Jr. has been vocal about his support for the blockchain revolution.
In 2023, he proposed backing the US dollar with Bitcoin and eliminating the capital gains tax on the digital asset to help stabilize the heavily printed global reserve currency.
