Software company MicroStrategy has announced its acquisition of approximately 18,300 Bitcoin between August 6 and September 12.
The company revealed in its Form 8-K to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission that the purchase, totaling $1.11 billion, was made at an average price of $60,408 per Bitcoin, including expenses and fees.
Entrepreneur and CEO Michael Saylor has been leading MicroStrategy’s continued growth in BTC since their initial purchase on August 11, 2020.
As a result of this recent acquisition, the company’s total BTC holdings now stand at approximately 244,800, valued at $14.14 billion.
With a cumulative investment of around $9.45 billion, the average purchase price for MicroStrategy’s BTC purchases since August 2020 is $38,585 per BTC.
